Windsurfing: levington Wind Direction: ssw Wind Stength: 10-12 kts Surf / Sea State: flat Air Temperature: warm Sea Temperature: ok Weather: fine Max Speed: guess 15kt Distance Covered: 1 hour (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Went to manor and dip about 11 ish (saw squiz van) but only 6kts at both.
On the way home I checked out levington and was surprised – 12-14kts
onshore
A guy was packing up a 5m / wave board – said the wind dropped! I
didn’t want to sail alone but after a text from Ian in Felixstowe, we
were rigging about 1 ish in 12kts high tide.
Rigged 9.4 Tushy XR race for the first time (need to sus set up) with my F2
380 longbd, and had a good sail, although only an hour, then the wind
dropped and water getting low.
Ian was having some runs on his newly acquired Isonic, but lost time fixing
a boom end. Ian now you have a Isonic and Lboard you need a 7.5M Lwind cut
sail, loads on eBay, then u will plane in 8kts.
Just wished I had gone Levington at 10. It was warm, love the board on flat
water and plane easily in 10kts which is great. I thought selling my 9.8
Pryde may have been a bad call, but the 9.4 Tushy XR does perform if set
baggy in Lwind. The adjustable outhaul cause grief and needs tweaking, as
it jammed everytime to windward, but it’s a nice setup to go cruising.
Weeks on the rower and bike paid off as the big sail felt light and no back
pain.
In 10-12kts on full plate, the F2 caught me out and flipped twice! Wicked
naughty board, have to eBay now for boom and mast foot protectors
Mind you I won’t be doing squiz epic runs, as gear failure is too
worrying. Happy to just go a little way as wifey don’t drive
Forgot to charge GPS……but ended the day sauna steam jacu…….nice
